Given that the cost-of-living in Malaysia is increasing, it’s evident that many people are struggling to keep themselves afloat. Just over the weekend, a kind Malaysian has shared her encounter with a man that’s selling tissues at the petrol station.
M’sian man sells tissues to support his family
According to her post, Thevisha was on her way back home from Klang, before stopping at a petrol station by Federal Highway. As she turned in, she noticed a man limping while trying to sell tissues. Out of the goodness of her heart, she headed over to the man and wanted to offer him some money.
“He refused my money and instead asked for some groceries”, she said.
Feeling a little lost at first, the woman quickly regained her composure and decided to buy the man dinner. As they were walking towards the restaurant, the man shared his story with her, tugging on her heartstrings. He mentioned that prior to selling tissues, he had a stable job.
However, an accident had twisted his fate, leaving him disabled and subsequently losing his job. Having two daughters, he was left with no other option but to sell tissues around the area, hoping that people are able to help him. Expressing his emotions, the man revealed that there were days where he wants to take his own life, but the thought of his two daughters at home stopped him.
A cry for help
“I was so heartbroken to hear his condition and really wanted to help him”, said Thevisha.
Thevisha added that despite his hardships, he refused to take her money and that was more than enough to proof that the man really needed help. He even mentioned to her that she could purchase groceries for them and send it to their house at Kampung Jawa.
“You can even pass the groceries to my daughters”, he said.
Unfortunately, with the condition that they’re in, the man, Yoges couldn’t afford education for his daughters, resulting them into dropping out. After purchasing his meal for him, Thevisha offered the man to head over to her shop to get whatever groceries he needs to feed him and his two daughters.
Asking about his mode of transport, the man shared that he travels everyday from Kampung Jawa to the petrol station near Federal highway with his bike.
“But the lights on his bike aren’t working for the most time”, said Thevisha adding that those who wish to help Yoges, can contact him at + 601124391845.
Life is not easy and if we have the ability to help, we should. We sincerely hope that things take turn for the better for him and his family.
