Popular education and parenthood social media figure Cikgu Fadli Salleh has officially been cleared by the Ministry of Education of any wrongdoing. This comes after the mathematics teacher from Sekolah Kebangsaan (1) Gombak recently took to his social media accounts to reveal that he was served with a letter from the Ministry, threatening disciplinary action by means of a demotion or dismissal over his open criticism of the public school system.

He would later go on to announce in a subsequent livestream that was aired yesterday (October 20th, 2022) that the Education Support Services Disciplinary Council has since been cleared of all three wrongdoings that were initially levelled against him, and will not have to face any disciplinary action.

The letter was signed by the Chairman of the Education Support Services Disciplinary Council, Datuk Yusran Shah Mohd Yusof.

A vocal proponent of improving education standards in the country, Fadli has spoken up on a number of issues pertaining to the local school syllabus, and how it is affecting both students and teachers alike. Some of them include the considerably heavy weight of school bags used by children that may detrimentally affect their physical development, in addition to the challenging school curriculum relative to the age of students studying it.

Speaking further on the recent letter of disciplinary action, Fadli says that while he is relieved over the decision undertaken by the council, the change that he had hoped to institute has not come into fruition yet, as long as there remains those in power who are in a position to force those on the bottom of the hierarchy to perpetuate an unhealthy culture.

“That letter should not have arrived. Because it isn’t equivalent to the wrongdoing committed. It makes no sense, unless there were ulterior forces at work.

These people need to be removed from the system. Request for them to retire early, and elect those with integrity. That is my goal. My fight isn’t for me to keep my job as a teacher, or to be absolved from wrongdoing.” he adds.

Fadli’s post was said to have even caught the attention of caretaker Prime Minister Ismail Sabri, who urged for the matter to be resolved amicably between all parties.
