As the cost-of-living increases over the years, many people have been struggling to stay afloat. With that said, many restaurants and stall owners have also increased their menu prices to cope with the inflation. However, for this chicken rice seller, he has decided to keep his cost low, selling at only RM3.95 for a plate of chicken rice.
Chicken rice vendor sells chicken rice at RM3.95
According to local newspaper Sin Chew Daily, a man named Jun Meng Low has shared that he is having a plate of chicken rice at a stall located in Setapak. Sharing in his caption he said,
“A plate of chicken rice for RM3.95. We must protect these kinds of bosses at all costs, so they don’t extinct. I hope the boss is always healthy.”
Expressing his gratitude towards the boss, he urged for netizens to support his stall and thank him as he believes that he wouldn’t be able to survive until the end of the month, if it wasn’t for his affordable meal. Following that, the local daily revealed that the vendor had started his business back in 2018.

Despite the increase in raw materials, he is adamant in keeping the price at RM3.95. Other than his chicken rice, affordable prices were also extended to other meals he offers, including fried vermicelli, mixed rice and iced tea. When asked why he hasn’t increase his price, the boss mentioned that this is his way of giving back to society.
“It’s not easy these days, I just want to give back to the society”, he said.
