Bomba successfully saves 22yo M’sian student in 15 minutes after she allegedly tried jumping off 2nd Penang Bridge

22-year-old Malaysian attempted to jump off the 2nd Penang bridge

According to local newspaper portal Kosmo! a 22-year-old Malaysian who is currently studying at a private university was caught allegedly attempting to jump off the Penang Bridge.

The incident happened around 4pm along the bridge heading towards the mainland, where she was seen standing close to one of the pillars.

Shocked by the scene and fearing for the young woman’s life, a passerby who witnessed the incident placed an emergency call to the authorities who immediately dispatched a rescue team over. Upon their arrival at the scene, they saw the student’s white Myvi parked at the side of the bridge while she was at the edge of the bridge facing the sea.

“She was in a very weak state as she was suffering from dehydration as the weather was scorching”, said Azman Mohd. Radzi, the chief operations officer from the fire and rescue department in Bayan Lepas.

After much persuading, the rescue team successfully managed to comfort the 22-year-old and brought her back to safety away from the edge of the bridge. Azman also shared that as the woman was rescued, she looked sad and did not respond to anything at all.

As of now, the woman’s condition is stable, and police have launched an investigation into the matter.
