In a recent heartbreaking display, a single mother is forced to send her two kids to a children’s home. This decision was definitely hard to make as she realises that she can no longer support her two children.
M’sian single mum forced to send her kids to children’s home
According to local newspaper China Press, the pair of siblings, aged 9 and 7 hails from a broken family. Speaking to the local mail, the mother, Lei Hui Ting (transliterated) shared that over 7 years ago, her husband had decided to run away as he owed a hefty amount of money. After leaving them, the man had never looked back, nor sent any money to help support their children.
“I’ve seen him posting pictures with other women and during this period of time, he has yet to come forward with a divorce settlement”, said the woman.
Bearing the responsibility of being both the father and mother to her kids, she had no choice but to leave her two children with her mother, while she works. Unfortunately, as her mother passed away two years ago, she decided to bring both her kids over to Kuala Lumpur.
“My kids were staying with one of my relatives, but just last year they’re also going through some financial difficulties, so I had to bring them back to Teluk Intan”, she mentioned.
“Thank you for taking care of us mum.”
Heading back to Teluk Intan, Hui Ting now works as an assistant to hawker vendor, earning only RM50 a day. As she heads to work during the weekdays, she couldn’t help but worry for her children as no one is home to take care of them. When asked about her children’s education, she mentioned that her oldest son had been to school while her youngest only attended pre-school.
Plunging into great despair, for the sake of her kids’ future, she decided to send both her kids to a children’s home. With the help of the home, both her children will be able to start going back to school soon.
“Any necessary tuition needed to help the two children get back on track will be provided”, reported the Chinese mail.
Before sending them off to the home, both the children filled a cup of water and gave it to their mother, thanking her for taking care of them. Seeing that his older brother is about to cry, the little boy then comforted his brother telling him that their mother will be visiting them on Sundays.
Definitely a painful decision to make but we hope that it’ll benefit the two children.
