The recent fashion scenes have brought on many impressionable pieces that garnered both wonder and ridicule. These outfits seemed to reveal how designers continue to challenge fashion bounds with their unique interpretations. As a case in point, the latest fashion piece sported by Malaysian singer Aina Abdul has attracted the attention of netizens as the design bears a similar resemblance to a blanket and a pillow!
M’sian singer Aina Abdul wears “cozy” outfit at Big Stage
Known for her eclectic fashion sense, Aina Abdul has once again made headlines with her latest unique apparel. The singer/songwriter captured the attention of the audience when she made her entrance as a judge at the local musical competition show, Big Stage Week 4. Almost everyone could not help but notice that she was wearing something that resembles a bed or blanket and pillow as her hijab.
The outfit consists of a cloak, a co-ord set, and a large cylindrical headpiece made entirely out of puffer fabrics. The cloak can also be used to envelop the body, similar to the warm, cozy blanket you use at home.
Designer calls the piece “A Wave Of Emotions”
The piece was designed by fashion architect Masyadi Mansoor, or Ahmad Masyadi Hussaini Che Mansoor who graduated from UiTM. Since his fashion debut back in 2022, Masyadi had been designing and styling Aina Abdul with his signature MSYD works.
In speaking with Wau Post, Aina’s team apparently approached him to design her outfit for Big Stage. The theme he was given was “Hari Jiwa Galau” (direct translation is “sad soul day”). He believes that everyone experiences a variety of emotions, ranging from some of the happiest and most euphoric feelings to some of the greatest anxieties and deepest sorrows. Therefore, he called his latest design “a wave of emotions”.
“So I created my own print by playing around with colours. Each colour represents different emotions: anger, sadness, happiness, & confusion,” he said.
In terms of design, Masyadi also worked closely with Aina’s stylist. As he was known for his signature extravagant puffy silhouettes, he came out with the whole puffy look to give an illusion of someone who is laying on the bed, covering themselves in a blanket and playing around with their thoughts and emotions.
“At the end of the day, the bed is the place we let it all out,” he wrote in the caption of his latest post.

Netizens finds the outfit amusing and question the meaning behind it
After the M’sian singer showed off this unique MSYD piece on television, it did not take long for netizens to share their opinions and reactions about it. Twitter user @joulcapik tweeted a picture of her outfit, which eventually became trendy after it received around 3.7 million views.
