Just yesterday (18/4), a 24-year-old Malaysian law student was allegedly said to be ashamed of facing his family as he had failed his law examinations for the third time. In an attempt for suicide, he headed over to a petrol station located in Segamat and decided to lit himself on fire.

He proceeded to drench himself in gasoline before taking a lighter and setting himself on fire. After his attempt to self-immolate, the petrol station owner was alerted of the situation and proceeded to call the cops while trying to extinguish the fire. Fortunately, the owner was able to prevent the matters from escalating further but the man had other plans.

Seeing that his first attempt had failed, the student who has now suffered 70% burns on his body then ran out onto the road, about 185 km from Johor Bahru to Seremban Road and sat himself in the middle of the road, hoping to end his life in a tragic accident. A lorry driver who was on the road managed to avoid hitting him, but a Proton Wira had lost control and crashed onto the lorry resulting in a car accident.
