A couple’s wedding is often a joyous occasion where friends and family from near and far come together to celebrate and witness the lifetime commitment and love they have for each other. But for one newly married couple, Mr. and Mrs. Sangharganesh, their nuptials were made all the more special when none other than our very own Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al Mustafa Billah Shah graced their weddng prior to their reception ceremony!
Wedding couple’s reception graced by presence of YDPA
Speaking to Wau Post, Mr. Sangharganesh shared that him and his wife have met 7 years ago but only started dating 3 years back. They then decided to take the next step by tying the knot and starting a life together as a married couple. With their reception happening at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, Mr. Sangharganesh’s father-in-law, Mr. Kumareasan with the assistance of Dato Anand organised a Harley Davidson Superbike Convoy to commemorate the joyous occasion.
“There were about 60 Harley Davidson bikes involved in the convoy and coincidentally, YDPA was there”, Mr. Sangharganesh shared.
As one can expect, the celebration of one’s marriage is no simple fare, and both Mr. and Mrs. Sangharganesh were already excitedly anticipating to see all their family and friends just moments before they made their entrance at the ballroom where their reception was held. But out of the blue, their wedding photographer Andy from Next Chapter Studio suddenly stopped them with a surprise: a special guest had hoped to meet them.
Of course, that special guest turned out to be none other than our very own Yang di-Pertuan Agong! Needless to say, the happy couple were thrilled with the opportunity to meet His Majesty on what was already a monumental chapter in their lives.
“Apparently, the bikes caught YDPA’s attention and the hotel staffs told Him about our wedding, He then graced us with His presence and my wife and I were so happy”, he said.
Mr. Sangharganesh shared that it was truly a surreal and unforgettable moment as he never thought he would meet the King on his wedding day. As he recalled the short meeting, he revealed that while he was excited, he was also nervous and his heart was beating really fast.
He mentioned that they managed to take a picture with YDPA as they briefly exchanged some conversations, with Mr. Sangharganesh sharing that he is from Air Itam, Penang while his wife is based in Ampang. Needless to say, their wedding has definitely become a night to remember forever as not many would have the opportunity to meet the King and get married to the love of their life’s all in a span of a day!
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Sangharganesh and here’s to a happy and healthy marriage!
