With the cost of living rising, plenty of people would agree that bringing children on a day out is rather expensive. However, for this Malaysian mother, a touching encounter that she experienced with her kids have broaden her perspective.
“You don’t need a lot of money to make your kids happy.”
Just recently, a Malaysian mother has shared a touching story onto her socials. In her post, she shared that she had a mere RM65 from her sales profit that day and was contemplating if she should use it to buy some groceries or bring her children out.
“I was worried because RM65 is not much and I’m afraid it won’t be enough to cover the expenses of my 7 children”, she said.

Looking at her children, she decided to take them out for dinner and a session of arcade games as she felt bad that her children rarely get to go out due to her work commitments. She was thinking of ways to ensure her children would get the best time and at the end decided to bring her children to the mall.
As they arrived at the mall, she brought them over to the kid’s zone where there were arcade games available. She bought a RM20 reload card and gave it to her children so they could enjoy some games.

“It was as if they knew I didn’t have much to offer and only played with games that wouldn’t cost a lot”, she mentioned.
RM65 in exchange for their happiness
After their arcade session, she brought her kids out of the mall and headed towards a fast-food restaurant. As they were on their way, her kids were babbling about excitedly and she couldn’t contain the smile of her face, knowing that her children had a great time. As she was about to enter the drive-thru, she realised that the line was insanely long and decided to just park further away and walk in to order her food.
She then ordered 7 sets of food for her children and with the promotions and menu rahmah options, she was able to provide each child with their own cheeseburger and apple pie.

“I was happy to see that the total was RM42 because I only had RM45 left”, she said.
As her kids were enjoying their meal with smiles on their faces, she couldn’t help but tear up as she realised that her children only wanted her to spend time with them, and not the luxurious trips and gifts she thought about. She then urged for parents to spend time with their children as quality time is very important.
