Just today (12 September), news broke out that veteran TV3 newscaster Raymond Goh has passed away. According to a statement from a family member, Raymond has passed on this morning at 10:40am in a hospital in Petaling Jaya.

Prior to this, it was said that he was suffering from a stroke on August 30 and was admitted into the hospital, where he received continuous medical treatment until his death. According to local newspaper MalayMail, Raymond was said to have passed on peacefully after a nearing two-week battle with stroke effects.

“It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Raymond Goh whose Muslim name is Muhammad Zaman Goh Bin Abdullah”, said the statement.

Following the news of his passing, the statement released also highlighted that Raymond has touched many people’s life in the country, for being the news anchor for the 7 0’clock news before switching to the TV3’s Nightline News. Subsequently, the family members of Raymond thanked his supporters and friends for their unwavering support and outpouring of love during this trying time.

The English daily also revealed that funeral prayers will take place at Masjid At-Taqwa, Taman Tun Dr Ismail , and he will be buried at  Bukit Kiara Muslim Cemetery today (12 September).

With over 30 years of experience in the broadcasting industry, Raymond was known as someone who speaks eloquently. Paired with his skills garnered, he has also trained multiple individuals on how to speak well.
