As we usher into the new year, many companies would reward their employees with bonus incentives. The purpose of the bonus is not only to reward them for their hard work but also serve as motivation for employees to work harder and more efficiently for the company. Just recently, a Taiwan airlines company, Tigerair Taiwan has made headlines for its lucrative bonus incentive!
Tigerair Taiwan rewards 800 employees an average of 10.8 months’ bonus
Following the post-pandemic travel surge, Singapore based newspaper, Channel News Asia reported that Tigerair Taiwan has announced an average 10.8 months’ bonus for all its 800 employees. Just early this week on Monday, chairman of the airlines company, Chen Han-ming revealed that the bonuses were approved during a board meeting.
In the board meeting, the approved bonus was said to comprise of an employee’s four months’ salary, NT$20,000 (RM2,982) in standard bonuses and NT$50,000 – NT$80,000 (RM7,455 – RM11,928) in performance-based bonuses. Including the bonuses that were given back in August and December last year, employees in the said airline can expect an average 10.8 months’ bonus, with some employees receiving up to 14 months’ bonus.
Other than that, the chairman of the low-cost carrier also mention that his employees can expect their salaries to increase by an average of 11.48% this year, with food allowances raising up to 12%. Focus Taiwan reported that in 2023, Tigerair Taiwan’s consolidated sales have reached a record of NT$12.57 billion (RM1.8 billion), which was a whopping 848.29% increase as compared to 2022.
