In an attempt to help with the increasing number of cars on the road and a smoother toll transaction process, PLUS Malaysia has offered a solution where road users can now choose to pay with their debit or credit cards. This initiative was rolled out last year 2023 and since then, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur users have begun experiencing less congestion at toll booths.
Penang bridge toll now accepts debit & credit cards, Penangites to enjoy 20% off!
Just over the weekend, PLUS Malaysia shared that the Open Payment System is now available at the Penang Bridge Toll Plaza! Reading the post, road users can now use their debit and credit cards to pass through the toll at Penang Bridge, in addition to other payment methods like Touch N’ Go, RFID and Smart Tag!
With that said, drivers who’d like to use their debit or credit cards to pay for toll can head over to the booths with the Debit/credit card sign. One of the benefits about paying with debit or credit cards is that the amount of the fee will be directly deducted from the balance of the respective cards.
Other than that, it was also said that those who are studying, residing or working in Penang are eligible for a 20% discount when they pay for their tolls at the Penang Bridge! Company vehicles would be able to utilize the discount via their Touch N’ Go cards while private vehicles can enjoy the promotion with their RFID and debit/credit cards!
To check your eligibility or to register for the discount, head over to Jimat di Penang website here!
