M’sian Engineering PhD holder works at a photocopy shop for over 6 years
According to a post by Mohd Yazid Ismail, he revealed that he has a friend who is a PhD holder in Engineering. Despite his exceptional qualifications, he has yet to land a job that matches with his qualifications.
“He graduated back in 2018, and until now, he has yet to find a job that is on par with his qualifications, so he now resorted into working at a photocopy shop”, he wrote.
Upon speaking to his friend, he found out that his friend has been applying for jobs throughout the years and has even attended multiple interviews. Unfortunately, despite going for interviews, he has yet to land a job. On top of that, due to his demeanour, he may seem a little slow.
“He is an introvert and is very careful with his words. To others, he may look slow, but I know he is just trying to be careful”, he said.
As his post garners attention from the public, plenty of netizens have given him encouragement and here’s what some of them said:
“May I know which field did you specialise in? I see quite a fair bit of job opportunities around my area.”
“Just because we studied in this field doesn’t mean we have to work in this field. We study because we want more knowledge, perhaps your rezeki is in another field.
I studied mechanics but now I’m a street food vendor. The most important part is that we work hard for what we want.”
“May I know which Engineering field you specialise in? If it’s in Engineering structure, I do have freelance jobs available.”
All the best in your job hunt, we hope you find a job that you’re happy with and that it matches your qualifications!
