Sharing the touching story on his socials, Harris shared that he received the woman’s message asking if she could enroll in one of his marketing courses to help with her business. She requested for a face-to-face course instead, but he was hesitant at first. He asked for her whereabouts to which she replied saying that she’s based in Taiping.

“I calculated the distance and it’s pretty far from where I’m based, so I asked if she was comfortable with an online class instead”, he said.

The woman answered saying that she was willing to cover the cost for him to travel as she finds it more effective to have a face-to-face course. After agreeing to a price and date, Harris set off to Taiping along with his family and after a long drive, he finally arrived at his destination.

As he arrived at his destination, he found out that the woman runs a cookie business, and the exterior of her shop was painted in pink. After setting up, he began going through his course with the woman and her employee. After he was done with his course, out of curiosity, he asked the woman how many employees she has.

Cookies made with love and care

“I have 20 employees under me, all of them are special needs kids”, she answered.

Feeling shocked and touched by her gestures, he asked the woman what their best-selling cookies are, and she listed out three cookies flavours which include sea salt chocolate chip, bangkit cheese and cranberry cornflakes cookies!

Upon tasting the cookies, Harris was surprised to find out that the cookies were absolutely mouthwatering! He proceeded to ask the woman if the cookies were made by the kids with special needs and she answered,

“Yes! They’re all made by them. They love working here so much that occasionally I have to force them to clock out and end work for the day.”

The woman then signaled Harris to look over at the other side of her shop where a punch in system was placed there. She explained that she’s the only business that works with special needs schools in Taiping and offers the special needs kids with jobs once they’ve completed their studies.

“You can say that all the cookies are made with extra love and car”, she said.

Touched by her gestures to empower the disabled community, Harris then decided to post her encounter onto his page which garnered thousands of shares, cheering the woman on.

Thank you for being so kind and having empathy to those who need a little extra care, all the best in your cookie business!
