Many people would see their pets as family and often associate a sense of attachment towards them. Obviously, this would also mean that they would never want to see their pets being put at risk of danger.

Just recently, a Malaysian netizen shared how her furry friend got stuck on a window ledge and was unable to leap back to their house safely.

M’sian netizen calls Abang Bomba to rescue her mischievous ‘oyen’ kitty

In a 43-second-long video shared by the cat owner, Mei Qi, she documents how a team of firemen came through and saved her pet cat, Fanta from the window ledge.

Hilariously set to the background song, “dumb ways to die”, the video showed how the authorities assessed the situation before planning out their plan to retrieve the stranded feline.

Speaking to Wau Post, Mei Qi explained that she would usually keep all the doors and windows of her apartment closed as the lived on the seventh floor, and did not want their cat to wander out on its own.

Unfortunately on the morning when the incident took place, one of the windows had been accidentally left open, granting Fanta the opportunity to escape out of their window and leap across to her neighbor’s side of the ledge.

“I noticed that Fanta was across the ledge after searching around the house for a good 5 minutes”, she shared.

Mei Qi revealed that prior to calling the Bomba, they were aware of how dangerous it was for them to save Fanta without the use of a safety harness. They even tried to lure Fanta back into the house with treats, but unfortunately the little cat wasn’t able to make his way across the ledge.

“He kept meowing and I know he wanted to come back but he just can’t. Our neighbor’s weren’t home as well so we couldn’t get them to open their windows and allow Fanta to jump into their premise instead”, she added.

With little choice left, they decided to call local emergency services, hoping that they could help save her furry friend. Thankfully, firefighters from the nearby Sri Hartamas Fire Department arrived 15 minutes after she made the call.

The rescue team then decided that one of them would head out to the window ledge with a harness on and would attempt to pick the cat up. After they managed to rescue the cat from the ledge, another member of the rescue team then climbed over to the ledge with a pet carrier so that they could keep him in safely before climbing back to the corridor.

Thankfully, Fanta wasn’t actively squirming around when the rescue team picked him up and neither the playful feline nor any members of the emergency team were put in harms way throughout the rescue.
