The traffic situation in Malaysia could be a whole lot worse if not for the hard work of police officers. Contrary to what most people think, these officers do more than just stand in the road for hours.

Imagine working tirelessly under the hot sun and having to direct an endless stream of vehicles at the same time. As exhausting as it can be, this did not stop one traffic police officer from going above and beyond his line of duty.

A Facebook post shared by the Jelebu Investigation and District Traffic Enforcement Division (BSPTD Jelebu) has warmed the hearts of online users. A couple of images show a police officer escorting an elderly woman to cross a street.

At the time of the incident, Constable Mohd Danish Khairuddin was coordinating the busy traffic on the road. As he was performing his job, he saw an elderly woman attempting to cross the road.

The officer proceeded to assist the lady and brought the cars to a stop. The pictures show the duo crossing the street side by side, with the woman happily giving a thumbs up sign to the officer.

The post was reshared on the Royal Malaysia Police Facebook page and has since went viral. The police officer’s actions have earned him all sorts of compliments from online users.
