Stray animals are often found in urban and rural areas, living on the streets or in public spaces. They may rely on scavenging for food and finding shelter wherever possible. Just recently, a Malaysian police officer was commended by the public for his heartwarming act, rescuing a stray puppy.
M’sian police officer rescues stray puppy that fell into the drain
According to Polis Daerah Hulu Selangor, the Hulu Selangor MPV unit members were conducting their patrol, near Serendah Waterfall. As they were patrolling around, one of the unit officers heard wailings and decided to check it out. As they approached the drain, they found two stray puppies in the drain.
Corporal Amar who found the puppies decided to help them by lifting them out of the drain, with the help of Lance Corporal Rick. Thankfully, they were able to save the puppies in the drain, ensuring their safety. Ending the video, a reminder was put up, stating that dogs are also a creation of God, and is worthy of kindness and compassion.
Following their heartwarming gesture, the post highlights that they understand that some Malaysians would have a rather negative perception towards the police.
Kindness and compassion extended to all
“Many would find police officers intimidating, especially when they encounter them during roadblocks”, it said.
Through the post, the team aims to show the public that when in trouble, police officers, just like other human beings, would also extend some form of compassion.
