According to Zairul Annuar, he shared that while he was on the way back, he noticed that the jam was getting worst on PLUS Highway. In order to avoid the jam, he decided to redirect his route and take one of the inner routes. however, as he was closing in, he found out that even the inner route was stuck.

Looking at the suggestion given by his navigation system, Zairul didn’t hesitate and took the suggestion given. Passing through a neighbourhood and an oil palm plantation with unpaved roads, he met a few cars that turned back.

“They told me that the roads in front are impassable and asked us to turn back”, he said.

The true Malaysia spirit!

After turning back, Zairul met a group of Chinese men, and they asked if he was trying to head back to Kuala Lumpur. Answering them, the men then told him that if he were to turn back now, he’d be stuck in a jam. Understanding that the roads were impassable, the men then told Zairul,

“Just wait for a moment, we will get a backhoe over and fix the impassable roads.”

To his surprise, the Chinese men turned out to be the residents in the neighbourhood he passed by earlier on! Bringing their backhoe, the group of men were able to fix the roads, allowing Zairul and other road users to pass by, escaping the jam.

Expressing his gratitude, Zairul shared that he was really touched to see how the group of men were willing to band together and help him as well as other road users.

“This is the true Malaysian spirit”, said Zairul as he ends his post.

It’s through festive seasons like these where we get to see how united Malaysians are! Keep up the good work, fellow Malaysians!
