It is often believed that those who are born with twin siblings often share an tacit, enigmatic bond between one another throughout their lives and instinctively possess a preternatural ‘Sixth Sense’ that sees their lives intersecting in unexpected and unusual ways. In fact, believers in the paranormal even have a word to describe the phenomenon: extrasensory perception, or ESP.
And that’s no surprise given how the belief is often fueled by identical twins who share similar hobbies, interests, and in some extreme cases, even spouses. Of course, the latter is bearing the assumption that the arrangement is completely consensual between all parties involved.
M’sian man admits to falling in love with his twin brother’s girlfriend
But where partners are concerned, one Malaysian man has raised more than just a few eyebrows after admitting that he has fallen in love with his twin brother’s girlfriend without their knowledge. In an annonymous confession that was shared to local radio station MY Malaysia, the man explains that both he and his brother are identical twins and are 28-years-old.
Describing themselves as appearing almost indistinguishable from one another, he claims that sometimes, even his own mother has trouble telling them apart from one another. With that said, the priorities they held in life could not be any more different.
“I have been single for many years as I wanted to focus on building my own career. But my brother only has love on the mind and keeps changing his girlfriends.” he claims.
Fickle as he may be, his brother seems to have eventually settled on dating one girl consistently over a period of three years. What’s more, he would often bring her home to stay with them.
“She’s a very nice girl. Thoughtful, gentle, beautiful, which is to say that she’s also my type.” he admits.
Grew closer to her and developed feelings
Over time, the man eventually grew fond of his brother’s girlfriend and developed feelings for her. But instead of making an effort to distance himself away from these emotions, he took things a step further by acting on them when his brother had been out of the house.
“I snuck into his room, pretended to be my brother and kissed his girlfriend. At the time she was sleeping and when she responded to me, she was still bleary and did not realise I wasn’t her boyfriend.”
Since then, he said that he has no idea how he can face his brother or his girlfriend, as his feelings for her have only grown stronger and more ardent.
The post has since attracted the attention of social media users, many of whom found the story hard to believe.
“Are you trying to market the trailer of a new thriller movie?”
“Isn’t this the plot of the comic book I’m reading?”
Others were critical of the man for acting out on his impulses and desires, without any concern for his brother’s relationship.
“What’s done is done. What can you do? Whether this secret will be made known in the future, nobody can tell. Just take care of yourself. Never interfere with your sibling’s partners. Remember that.”
“You choose to focus on your career, your brother choose to focus on his love life. And now that he has found happiness, you want to steal it away from him, to the extent of doing something like this. It is really a ‘blessing’ from a past life to have a brother like you. You have no morals.”
One even asked if what the man did constitutes as a crime.
“Although they are identical twins, they still are different people! Isn’t that considered rape? It’s a crime!”
Another joked suggested that he could enter an arrangement between the three of them.
“No problem, just tell your brother to ask his girlfriend to enter a ‘one woman, two husbands’ arrangement. You can be with her on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays. He can be with her on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Then she can have the Sunday off to herself.”
But as with all things on social media, it’s probably a good idea to take this with just a grain of salt!
