As the lorry driver leaves the vehicle, his companion hastily dials for help on the phone. Armed with a fire extinguisher, Affendi rushed to save the victim. According to him, the man was still alive when he reached him.

He tried to put out the flames, but unfortunately the extinguisher died on Affendi before he managed to do so. The encounter has left him still traumatized, saddened that he could not save the man. The victim later turned out to be Muhamad Hafiz Muhamad Salleh, who worked as a delivery rider.

Speaking to Wau Post, Affendi relates that he is not able to get the man’s face out of his mind. “I tried my best to save the delivery rider. Please forgive me. Al-fatihah to the deceased,” he wrote in his caption.

Nevertheless, we thank you for your bravery Affendi. We hope that he, along with the families of the deceased will be able to get through this difficult time.
