Avid travellers are no strangers to flight delays. Whether it be due to bad weather or airport congestion, it isn’t unheard of to experience lags during departures. However, there is no denying that the time spent on waiting can be agonizing for those in a hurry to get to their destinations.
And it would seem that even children aren’t immune to that struggles of flight delays, as one young Malaysian girl goes to show.
M’sian girl believes planes are “slow” after experiencing flight delay
TikTok user @imnnrrzki shared an adorable clip of how his daughter came to assume that planes are slow when answering her exam paper. In the clip, her mother showed their daughter’s recent exam marks, which was an impressive score of 96. However, the one question she got wrong was what tickled her parents.

In the video, the question she got wrong was from a general question section where she had to determine the speed of each transportation between ‘fast’ and ‘slow’. Despite being one of the fastest modes of transport, the aeroplane was however described as ‘slow’ by the youngster.
When her mother asked her again whether the aeroplane is fast or slow, she replied the same and explained her logic.
“It’s slow because we had to wait for hours, and getting to Taiping also needed hours… Four hours! Therefore it’s slow,” she said.
As the family has just recently flown from Kuching to Penang and then travelled to Taiping, she was speaking from personal experience. Amused by her daughter’s clarification, the mother explained that the waiting time was due to the flight delay, not because of the speed of the plane. But the girl still looked unconvinced as she adorably mimicked a flying aeroplane, depicting their slowness in the sky.
Netizens sided with her
Although it is logically wrong, many netizens, however, backed up the little girl’s claim as they also felt that they have waited for hours to board the plane and reach their destinations.
“This kid is really living in reality. It’s okay, you still did a good job!”
“She had to argue with the teacher on this because it just makes sense.”
Some even praised her judgement and reasoning due to the fact that she observed the duration required to reach the family’s destination.
“In a way, the girl thinks smart because she calculated the durations for every mode of transport and made comparisons. Good job! Keep being curious.”
