In the spirit of Merdeka, one of the most looked forward to activities is the National Day parade. The event never fails to take center stage each year, and this time no exception either.
M’sian family goes for an exciting preview at the Merdeka Day celebration rehearsals
Besides being a historical milestone, our Independence Day also serves as an opportunity to bond with one another. Particularly for families, celebrating this joyous occasion together has even become a running tradition in some.
Atka Rose decided to document her family’s special day out, and posted their day’s activities on her TikTok. Taking their excursion to Dataran Putrajaya, the family of four are seen making their way in the wee hours of the morning. There are no signs of morning blues though, as all of them appear excited to reach their destination.
Even at the rehearsals, there was already a crowd eagerly waiting for it to start. As Atka and her family joined in with the spectators, she managed to capture a sneak peek into what is to come.
The lineup features their classic flag waving squad, with a myriad of eye-catching colors. Also, the police contingent can be seen cruising down the road in their trademark motorcycles.
Trying again after failing to catch last year’s celebrations
Speaking to Wau Post, Atka shared that she and her family had tried to attend last year’s festivities. Despite their early preparation, the venue was unfortunately too packed, forcing the family to leave without watching.
“This year, we opted for the smarter route and went during rehearsals instead, ” Atka said. She added that her kids were able to enjoy the show comfortably with a great view of the event. “It was a lovely way to commemorate our country’s Independence Day as a family,” she happily recounts.
