For those who are unfamiliar, ACCA refers to the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and every year, thousands of students would take the exams in hopes of being a certified accountant. However, it is also known for being incredibly challenging to score successfully!
In that vein, a few students have made Malaysia proud by topping the charts for their ACCA examinations taken in December 2022.
ACCA congratulates Malaysian students for securing top spots locally & internationally
The professional accounting accreditation body has revealed that out of the 107,142 students that sat for the December examinations last year, a number of Malaysians showcased their talents with outstanding scores. In fact, 6 local students even managed to claim top spots globally and locally in a number of different categories!
According to ACCA qualifications reported by local newspaper, Sin Chew Daily, some of the top scorers include Lim Hui Ning, who cinched the global #1 spot for Financial Management, and Jeevanandini R Karunagaran who landed the global #1 spot for Advanced Financial Management.
The duo shared that their key to succeeding in their papers were preparation done since the first day their semester commenced and consistency.
“I would make it a point to finish off any ACCA past year questions including those that are available on the ACCA website”, said Hui Ning.
Jeevanandini on the other hand shared that while she manages a full-time job at TNB, she made sure to give herself ample time to revise for her ACCA examinations, adding on that she placed an immense amount of trust on herself since she started her ACCA journey.
“I had to make sacrifices along the way to ensure I stayed on track towards my goal. The success is indeed very rewarding and fruitful,” she adds.
For students taking their Foundation in Accountancy, Muhammad Faris Izzuddin Bin Mohd Ridza ranks first in the Management Information category, while Luqman Hirzan Bin Masri, Ahmad Imanul Nor Afandi and Nur Afrina Khairul claimed #1 in Malaysia and globally for their Recording Financial Transactions paper. Additionally, Muhammad Faris Izzuddin Bin Mohd Ridza placed first for the Management Information paper.
Speaking on his results, Muhammad Faris thanked his accounting teacher from high school for motivating and inspiring him to take on accounting by showing him that it could be fun.
On the other hand, Muhammad Adib Mohamed Noor from INTEC Education College secured the top spot in Malaysia for Performance Management and also Taxation. He credits his achievements to hard work and dedication, aided with preparation through the BPP revision kit as well as notes he made himself. He shares that it was his dream to be ranked as #1 since he started his ACCA journey.
Lastly in the ACCA affiliates category, the local Number 1 went to Lim Zhi Shao, followed by Nicole Tan Ze Nee and Kwong Pei Yee at second and third respectively.
Achievements like these are definitely not easy as it requires plenty of determination and hard work. Once again, we’d like to congratulate these Malaysians for doing well in their papers whilst making many other Malaysians proud.
