If there is one thing we are often reminded to do when heading to a government office or department to have anything prepared, whether it be a driver’s license, a passport, or a business license, it is always important to be mindful of the prerequisite dress codes. For men, this would mean proper shoes, long pants, and a collared shirt while in the case of women, that would call for skirts that drape past the knees.

But what if you were caught in a situation where the dress code had slipped your mind, and you were caught between a rock and a hard place? Unfortunately, this would be a circumstance that one local man would inadvertently find himself in after he had forgotten to wear a collared shirt while getting ready to sit for his Department of Road Transport Vehicles (JPJ) driver’s test.

While many of us may be left with no choice but to reschedule our driving test, this young Chinese man was fortunate enough to meet another fellow Malaysian in the vicinity who was wearing a collared shirt. In a clip shared by TikTok user eeqramazizi that recorded their entire exchange, the student driver could be seen explaining his situation to the Malay man.

Without needing much convincing, the Malay man promptly took off his collared shirt, before folding it neatly to hand over to the Chinese man, who appeared grateful for his help. He was then seen swiftly heading back to join other student drivers who were awaiting to sit for their own test.

“This is the true Malaysian spirit,” he captioned in the video.

Malaysian netizens commend the man for his kindness

The video has since gone viral across the local social media space, with many applauding the Malay man for unreservedly coming to the learner student’s aid when he needed it the most, and being well-mannered for folding his shirt before handing it over.
