The past couple of months have proven to be quite the tumultuous period for former Health Minister YB Khairy Jamaluddin. Having contested in the 15th General Elections held last year and losing his constituency of Sungai Buloh, he was subsequently dismissed from senior UMNO ranks in late January of 2023.

With that said, the politician isn’t intent on sulking and licking his wounds, as he has already tapped into the public consciousness through other avenues, most recently through Malaysian airwaves after announcing that he will be joining the ranks at local radio station HotFM as a temporary disc jockey (DJ).

At the time, he quipped that this was his way of ensuring that he could still engage with the community to discuss on local issues and ‘joking’ about them every morning, reports Malay Mail.

“I still have political ambitions, I don’t want people to forget me,” he adds.

After working as a DJ, Khairy gets appointed as director of JDT Football Club

While he has clocked in on his first day as a radio DJ earlier this morning on the Bekpes Hot show, it’s clear that he wouldn’t be resting on his laurels as Khairy was later introduced as the newest director of the Johor Darul Ta’zim Football Club!

The appointment was made by club owner HRH Major General Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Crown Prince of Johor, and wasconfirmed through the club’s official social media pages in a congratulatory message to commemorate the occasion with.

Additionally, it was also revealed that Khairy has taken upon the role of Youth Advisor for the state of Johor.

Then again, this may not come to be much of a surprise given the fact that Khairy had previously held the position of Youth and Sports Minister between 2013 to 2018, under the leadership of disgraced Prime Minister Najib Razak.

It would appear that his appointment has been met with much fanfare among Malaysian fans, with many congratulating him on the new role.
