As someone who works in the creative and media industry, having to come up with designs whilst taking notes is part of daily life. As much as I enjoy typing, I would often lean towards writing things down. Meaning to buy a tablet for work and leisure purposes, I’m beyond thrilled that Samsung Malaysia has gifted me the brand-new Samsung S9 FE.
I got my hands on the brand-new Samsung S9 FE tab & here are my initial impressions!
As per any electronic device, the tablet is wrapped in a sleek box, along with an ejection pin, warranty card, Samsung Pay leaflet and the USB-C to USB-C cable. However, one thing worth noting is that the tablet doesn’t come with an adapter. The tablet comes in four different colours, which are, mint, grey, white and black.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE is available in two variants: one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, priced at RM2099, and another with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, priced at RM2399.
Sleek and premium display
The tablet feels solid in hand yet still lightweight and easy to carry. It comes with a high-resolution 12.4-inch or 10.9-inch display, that brings every stunning visual to life onscreen.
With the year coming to an end, I decided to test out its visuals by watching Christmas movies! And safe to say, with its DCI-P3 color gamut and enhanced brightness the display on the S9 FE does not disappoint. It delivers accurate colors and smooth performance, whether you’re watching movies or playing light games.

Performance and software
Underneath its fancy display, the S9 FE contains the Exynos 1380 chipset, which is more powerful than the processors found on the Galaxy Tab A series. The tablet handles light gaming and video streaming without any issues, and the 6GB or 8GB of RAM ensures smooth multitasking. It comes with the Android 13 onboard, ensuring that users stay up to date with the latest features and improvements.

If you’re worried about having it charged multiple times a day, fret not because the Galaxy Tab S9 FE packs a generous 8000mAh battery, which provides all-day usage on a single charge. As I was using it, I found that the tablet easily lasted through a few hours of researching on social media platforms and streaming movies.
S Pen glides through the screen easily
Work flawlessly on your time with the brilliant S Pen. Source: Samsung MalaysiaAs with most Galaxy Tab models, the Fan Edition S9 comes with an S Pen included in the box. The S Pen attaches magnetically to the back of the tablet and offers a comfortable and precise writing and drawing experience. I’m no artist but taking notes with the S pen was definitely my highlight when using the tab!
I was pleasantly surprised by how easy the pen glides through the screen. The sensitivity of the pen was just right, and I particularly enjoyed using the pen to navigate through my experience.
Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE is a compelling tablet that strikes a balance between performance, affordability, and premium features. With its large display, powerful processor, long battery life, and included S Pen, it caters to a wide range of users, from casual gamers and media consumers to digital artists and professionals.
So far, the Samsung S9 FE has definitely exceeded my expectations and I can’t wait to continue using it. if you’re looking for a mid-range tab to start out, the Samsung S9 Fe is definitely one to consider!
