Just recently, many Malaysians and Anime enthusiasts were thrilled to find out that Kuantan, a city in Malaysia was mentioned in an Anime series, Jujutsu Kaisen. Following the shoutout, the mention of the city has brought up many discussions online and offline, creating a buzz around the city.
Pahang Exco to reach out to Jujutsu Kaisen’s creator
As it continues to make waves on social media, local newspaper Sinar Harian has shared that Pahang Exco, Leong Yu Man, is looking into potentially building a memorial for Nanami on a beach, in hopes of elevating the city into a global tourist attraction spot.
Following that, it was also reported that fans of the animated series have also marked a spot, on Google Maps as a memorial for Nanami. Other than that, some of the anime enthusiasts have also sent in proposals to build a memorial.
“The state government is currently looking into contacting the creators of Jujutsu Kaisen, hoping for their approval”, she said.
Pahang Exco, Leong Yu Man also stated that the state government is currently looking at endorsement from the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen, with the intention of transforming Kuantan into a global tourist attraction, especially for Anime enthusiasts.
