Birthdays are a joyous occasion and with that said, plenty of people would go through lengths to ensure that their loved ones feel appreciated. Just recently, a video on TikTok showcasing a filial son surprising his mother for her birthday at her workplace has gone viral.
Filial M’sian son buys a cake and surprises mom at workplace for her birthday
According to the video posted by @madikemadi, a boy was seen holding a birthday cake anxiously waiting at the side. Standing across him, was his mother and she was unaware of his presence. As he saw an opening to head over to his mother, he headed over with the cake catching the mother by a surprise.

In his video, he captioned it:
“Happy birthday mom, love you always.”
Upon seeing her son, the woman smiled sheepishly and gently touched her son’s face, perfectly showcasing the affection between a mother and son. She then quickly blew the candles off, not being able to contain the smile on her face.

Speaking to Wau Post, he shared that prior to surprising his mother, he expressed his desires to have a celebration for his mother to his friends. Being the good friends that they are, they’ve agreed to help him with the surprise. After obtaining the cake, they’ve planned for one of his friends to pretend like he didn’t know how to use the self-ordering kiosk, needing assistance from his mother.
“I felt quite anxious as I really wanted to pull the surprise off and thankfully, I was able to”, he said.

Sharing a quick meal with his friends, they then cut the cake up and distributed it amongst themselves and seemingly had a great time.
