One of the best things about Malaysia is the plethora of choices we get when it comes to food and beverages. With that said, fierce market competition in inevitable, but for Canadian coffee chain Tim Hortons, it seems like they have their eye set on the Malaysian market.
Famous Canadian coffee chain Tim Hortons to open its doors in M’sia in August 2024!
Dipping their toes into the Malaysian market, Tim Hortons, a famous Canadian coffee chain is set to partner up with their existing Singapore market franchisee Marubeni Growth Capital Asia. This partnership with the Singapore-based franchisee will open doors in the Malaysian market, expanding up to 100 stores in Malaysia by 2025.
With that said, Malaysians can expect to see the first 2 Tim Hortons outlet in Malaysia by August 2024. While the exact launch date has yet to be announced, the coffee chain is confident that it’ll be able to expand vastly by the end of 2025. As of now, Tim Hortons currently have recorded over 5,800 stores globally.
This includes 903 chains in China, and another 78 stores spread across the Southeast Asia region, which includes Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore. On top of that the number also includes their store in South Korea, where their first ever branch was opened back in December 2023.
On a similar note, Luckin Coffee, a famous coffee chain based in China has also announced its plans to dabble into the Malaysian food and beverage industry sometime this year.
