Devastated M’sian visits dad’s grave with SPM results after he passes away a day before it was announced

SPM is a national examination taken by secondary school students before they end their high school education. It is an important examination for Malaysian students as it serves as a prerequisite for further education and employment opportunities. The results obtained in SPM are used for admission to pre-university programs like the STPM, matriculation programs, and other post-secondary education institutions. The grades obtained in SPM also play a significant role in determining scholarship eligibility.

“Dad, I got 8A’s and 2C’s in my SPM examination.”

Just over 2 days ago, the SPM results were released and plenty of students were feeling anxious and relieved as it signifies the end of an era. Unfortunately for SPM candidate Nur Farah Melissa Mohd. Shukri, what was supposed to be a celebration with her family turned devastating as her father had passed away just a day before she received her results.

According to local newspaper Kosmo!, Farah revealed that her father has been having kidney complications and was admitted into the hospital since last Monday. She said that she has been by her father’s side ever since he was admitted and was present when her father had succumbed to his illness.

“He promised me that he’ll accompany me to get my results, but unfortunately he couldn’t make it”, she said.

At the end, Farah who is the eldest amongst her other 3 siblings, was accompanied by her brother and right after she obtained her results, they made their way to where the cemetery where their father was laid to rest.

“I want to dedicate my results to my late parents, and I will honour my father’s wish and continue my studies”, said Farah, vowing to further her studies in the accounting field.

We hope Farah has gotten her closure and knows that her parents are incredibly proud of her achievements thus far. Congratulations on your achievement Farah.
