When it comes to awards, many people would associate it with major achievements revolving around their academic or personal life. Just recently KPKT Malaysia has announced an award for the toilet of the year!
KPKT Malaysia announces award for toilet of the year
Yes, you’ve heard that right, just yesterday, KPKT Malaysia has announced that an award ceremony will be held for the toilet of the year. According to their Facebook post, it was said that reason behind this initiative was to encourage and motivate those in the private industry to always maintain and upkeep their toilet facilities.
Based on the post, the toilets are ranked based on three criteria, which are, bersih (cleanliness), menawan (pleasant) and wangi (scent), otherwise known as “BMW”. Other than that, the award was split into 5 different categories which include hotels, restaurants, rest stations, shopping malls and petrol stations.
As a reward for the businesses, a RM10,000 cash prize along with a certificate and trophy were awarded. Following that, the winners for each category were announced and they are:
Hotel – The George Penang The Cruse Collection, Penang
Restaurant– Cawan Mu FMB Sdn Bhd, Ipoh, Perak
Rest station– Toppen Shopping Centre, Johor
Shopping mall– Petron Senai Jaya, Senai, Johor
Petrol station– R&R Elmina Arah Selatan, Lebuhraya Koridor, Guthrie, Selangor
Along with YB Tuan Nga Kor Ming, the awards were presented to the winners followed by a short photography session.
