M’sian couple stuns crowd with their own traditional attire during wedding ceremony
In a TikTok video posted by the bride herself, Kisha shared a couple of pictures of her and her husband. While it may seem like a normal video, what caught the attention of many was the fact that both her and her husband dressed up in their own traditional attire.
Speaking to Wau Post, Kisha mentioned that she met her husband while they were working in the same company. As they started dating, she found herself having to make very difficult life choices.
“It was tough because there were many things I had to consider. But thankfully I have really supportive friends, family and partner”, she said.
Not all rainbows and sunshine
When asked about her relationship with her partner, Kisha shared that there were many challenges they had to face as a couple. Due to their difference in background and culture, it was definitely a period of constant compromising towards each other, However, as they continue to navigate their relationship, Kisha was certain that she’d want to marry him.
Following that, as they celebrate their marriage, they’ve decided to hold a Malay wedding but with a slight twist. Instead of wearing the typical Baju Pengantin, Kisha and her partner decided to wear their own traditional attire.
“My husband is Malay mixed Chinese and he decided to wear Baju Melayu. My mother-in-law wore a beautiful red Cheongsam“, she said, while she was dressed in a beautiful Saree.
Peace, joy and stability
When asked for a word of advice when navigating interracial marriages, Kisha shared that the difference in background, culture and religion wouldn’t be a big factor, especially if your partner is the right one for you.
“When you love someone, their background, culture and religion doesn’t really matter. You need to figure out if your partner brings you peace, stability and joy”, she mentioned.
As her story continues to make waves online, plenty netizens have commented on the story and here’s what some of them said:
