The Guinness World Records is a reference book published annually that catalogues world records both of human achievements and the extremes of the natural world. With that said, some would go through extreme lengths just to break or set a new record. Just over the weekend, Malaysians were pleasantly surprised to find that AEON Mall located in Bukit Tinggi has broken the Guiness World Record!
AEON Mall Bukit Tinggi breaks Guinness World Record for hosting largest gathering in Spiderman costume
On June 3, 2023, fans of Spiderman have gathered in AEON Mall Bukit Tinggi in an attempt to break the Guiness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed in Spider Man costume. According to TGV cinema’s post, a total of 685 people has dressed up as Spider Man, allowing the mall to set a new Guinness World Record.
This momentous event was in conjunction of the movie release, Spider Man: Across the Spider-Verse, a highly anticipated movie. Prior to this achievement, the largest gathering of people dressed in Spiderman costume was in India where 601 people showed up. Subsequently, Malaysia managed to set a new record by recording a total of 685 participants in the event.
Organised by Sony Malaysia and AEON Mall Bukit Tinggi, it was reported that the attempt to break the record started at 4pm, with plenty of Malaysians showing up in their Spiderman costume, showcasing their love and passion towards the superhero. At 4:40pm, official Guinness adjudicator made an announcement through the mall, revealing that Malaysia has successfully broken the record.
As soon as the announcement echoed through the mall, fans and participants who were present cheered on loudly, celebrating such an extraordinary event. A huge congratulations to AEON Mall Bukit Tinggi and Sony Malaysia for this incredible breakthrough!
