Over the past few weeks, the weather in Malaysia has been somewhat unpredictable, with occasional heavy rain during the afternoon and evening. With that said, some of the areas experiencing heavy downpour have been affected, causing mini floods.
Abang polis help clean up clogged drains to avoid mini floods on the road
Just recently, a few policemen were praised online for their dedication and hardworking nature. According to a video posted by one of the policemen, Ery Wahab, he was seen trying to unclog and clean the roads in Kuala Lumpur. With the debris coming from litters as well as construction sites, the drains were likely clogged, resulting in the rainwater being unable to flow into the drains.
Seeing that mini floods are forming, Ery and his colleagues jumped into action quick by picking up the debris that’s clogging the drain. Speaking to Wau Post, Ery shared that he’s been working as a policeman for over 9 years.
“We’re always ready to serve the nation”, he said.
With their swift action in unclogging the drains, the mini floods were quick to disperse, allowing road users to pass by the area with minimal worries.
As the video was posted on TikTok, many netizens have praised them for their action and here’s what some of them said:
“Well done to the authorities, even though it’s not in their job scope!”
“Thank God and well done. May God ease their lives.”
