“I want people to know more about it”, M’sian pau vendor performs traditional Malay dance at their stall

In a recent creative display, a pau vendor located in Johor has come up with a way to help promote his stall, and at the same time continue to uphold his roots as a fellow Johorean.

Speaking to Wau Post, Habil shared that the idea of entertaining the customers with traditional dances have been on his mind. After months of going back and forth, he decided to give it a try.

“We’ve gone through a lot of dances, and we didn’t want to just do trendy dances”, he said.

Hailing from Johor, the pau vendor wanted to keep some form of culture alive and decided that the best way to do so is to dance the traditional dance called Zapin. For those who are unfamiliar, Zapin is a traditional Malay dance form often performed during cultural events, weddings, and festivals.

Evidently, his initiative was a great success as he was able to gain traction to help with his stall business and at the same time showcase the beauty of traditional dances.

As of now, Pau Premium Abang Manis operates two stalls in Johor! If you wish to catch their live performance and try out their adorable buns, head over to:

1. B5 Johor Street Market- In front of Plaza Angsana Johor Bahru, from 4pm to 2:30am daily.
2. Bazar Ramadan Temenggong Kulai Jaya Johor from 4pm to 7:30pm
