M’sian shares hilarious photo of the button mushroom she ordered in a hotpot restaurant that cost her RM8.50

Over the years, many hotpot restaurants have emerged, and it is enjoyed by many people as a communal meal, where everyone can gather around the table and cook their own food to their liking. The dish can vary in flavor depending on the type of broth and sauces used, typically seen as comfort food especially during raining season.

M’sian shocked to find out that 5 button mushrooms from a can costs RM8.50

Just recently, a Malaysian has shared her experience while dining in at a hotpot restaurant. In her post, she shared that she had been eyeing on this particular restaurant for a while and have heard that the restaurant serves excellent soup. As they were ordering their meals, they’ve decided to order some button mushrooms and was aware that the prices were at RM8.50 per portion.

As the waiter sets their orders onto the table, they were shocked to find out that there were only 5 button mushrooms served in the plate. To make matters worse, the button mushrooms were sliced into half unevenly. Speaking to Wau Post, Syl shared that the hotpot restaurant she went is located in Puchong.

Upon checking the reviews, Syl and her cousin found out that while the eatery was complimented for their exceptional soup, their portion was known to be on the smaller side, as opposed to the price that they have to pay.

“I was shocked to see the serving of the button mushroom, but found it hilarious”, said Syl.

“I think if they garnished it or plated it better, it would’ve been okay, the fact that they plated it like that really made the whole dish look sad.” 

“If it were me, I would’ve laughed out loud. Did the waiter feel awkward when bringing it out.”

“I think it’s fine if the portion is small, I think they should’ve spent some time plating the food, place some orchids on it along with with some greens.” 

“If you knew it was going to be like that, you could’ve brought your own can of mushrooms.”

“Initially, i thought 5 sliced up button mushrooms were fine, then I found out that the price was RM8.50, my gosh.”
