But for 19-year-old Tristan Chaang who recently completed his secondary education at Kuala Lumpur’s Kuen Cheng High School, he has became the only Malaysian that was accepted into the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) this year! However, his achievements didn’t only stop there, it was then revealed that Tristan was also offered a place to continue his studies at the University of Oxford in United Kingdom as well.
Other than congratulating his success, his high school has also mentioned in their post that he was a bright student that was not only good in his studies, but also a humble and hardworking boy with great potential.
“All of the students and teachers in Kuen Cheng are extremely proud and happy for what he has achieved so far and we wish nothing but the best for him in his future endeavours!”, they said.

Beyond his academic achievements, a netizen named Derwick has shared in the comments section that Tristan has actually authored an e-book entitled ‘Techniques for High School Mathematics Contests’ that was released on Google Books.
The e-book is targeted at high schoolers who are looking to prepare ahead for national math contests like the IMONST, Chen Jingrun Cup, Hua Lo Geng Cup, or even the upcoming Youth Stem Cup.
With that said, Tristan has also written in his introductory post that the book is ‘suitable for all math enthusiasts at home and abroad.’Alongside his book, Tristan also runs a YouTube page that teaches his viewers how to solve complex mathematical equations. He has also been actively tutoring young students, ffering subjects like Mathematics and Physics ranging from SPM to Pre-University level. This is in addition to preparing a number of free handouts with various topics he is familiar with, in hopes of helping out those who shares similar interests with him.
