Marriage is a joyous occasion as it signifies two people coming together and starting a chapter together. With that said, many people would often hire a photographer to take their wedding pictures. Unfortunately for this woman, it seemed like her marriage has come to an end and in an attempt to ‘get rid’ of the memories made, she has decided to text her photographer for a rather bizarre request.
Woman asks for refund from wedding photographer as she is getting a divorce
In a recent post that was circulating online, a Facebook user has shared multiple screenshots of a conversation between a wedding photographer and a previous customer. In the first screenshot, the woman had introduced herself and tried jogging the photographer’s memory by informing him that he had taken their wedding photos back in 2019.
They quickly exchanged formalities and when asked about how he can be of service to her, she mentioned to him that she is divorced, and she no longer needs the photos. She praised the photographer for doing a good job in the pictures but unfortunately as she has got no use for the photos, she would like a refund from him.
Understandably shocked, the photographer then asked if the woman was joking around to which she answered saying she’s not. The photographer then politely declined her request telling her that a refund is impossible as the woman paid him for his service and labour fees.
“The pictures cannot be untaken, and I’ve delivered the service, photography is a non-refundable service”, he said.
The woman seemingly unsatisfied with his response, said that she is entitled for a refund, saying that she understands it’s not the photographer’s fault as her marriage failed but emphasised that as a business owner, he should be granting refund requests. Following that, the photographer sternly told the woman that she will not be entitled for a refund.
She then threatened the photographer saying that she has since forwarded all their messages to her lawyer, and he will be hearing from him. She then further asked the photographer if he would be willing to discuss the matter face-to-face to which he replied saying no and if she insists on engaging a lawyer, he will speak to the lawyer.
The post has since garnered plenty of traction and here’s what some netizens have to say:
“I feel like the photographer is being pranked. Does this mean that moving forward, the photographer would have to set up a new T&C when doing wedding shoots emphasising that married couples who get a divorce are not entitled to a refund?”
“If you change your perspective and they did not get a divorce, the photographer should charge them for copyright every year.”
