Delivery drivers definitely play a crucial role when it comes to modern day convenience, especially during the peak of the pandemic. As we rely on them to ensure that our food and parcels reaches our doorstep as soon as possible, it definitely doesn’t hurt for us to treat them with more kindness.
Tauhu bergedil seller offers food to delivery rider
Just over three days ago, a tauhu bergedil vendor has shared an Instagram video onto her account, showcasing that she was prepping for her customer’s order. The couple who runs the store in Damansara Damai, revealed that they’ve met a delivery rider that was about to collect his customer’s order.

As they were preparing orders, the delivery rider then popped a question asking if he could transfer RM5 from his Shopee app, in return for cash. Without hesitation, the seller agreed to it and continued on preparing the orders. The delivery rider then explained his situation, saying that he was unable to withdraw money from his ATM and he needed the RM5 for a meal.
“It’s 3pm now and the thought of him not having his meal yet made me sad”, said Norzahirah, trying her best to hold her composure.

As she engages in friendly banter with the rider, she was disheartened to find out that the rider has got two jobs in order to sustain his livelihood. She mentioned that the rider would work in a factory at night, and she could tell that he was struggling. After packing up the orders, she then passed a separate pack of tauhu bergedil for the rider, asking for him to eat.

“He refused to take it, but I told him to just accept it as I was genuinely trying to help him”, she said.
Norzahirah emphasised that the reason she shared the video is because she wants the public to know that there are plenty of people struggling out there and if we are at liberty to help, we should. She added that her intentions were to spread kindness and remind herself that at any given moment, her family could go through the same struggle, and she would hope that there are kind people out there who would also lend a helping hand.
