One-off incentive for civil servants and retirees as part of Ekonomi Madani

If you thought things couldn’t get any better, here’s more good news! As a sign of appreciation towards public servants, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has proposed a latest initiative under the ‘Ekonomi Madani’ scheme.

Speaking at the launch earlier today, Anwar expressed that this incentive is a continuing reflection of the federal government’s pledge to adjust the wages of civil servants.

According to the Malay Mail, he stated that government employees up to Grade 56 will be given an amount of RM300, while those who have retired or are on a pension will each receive RM200.

“This unique incentive will positively impact around 1.3 million currently employed civil servants, including contractual employees, and over one million pensioners,” Anwar explained.

Anwar is confident that this incentive will inspire civil servants to realign themselves with the rejuvenated objectives of the Madani Economy, enhancing their public service delivery and aiding the government in formulating an updated pay structure for civil servants.

Previously on July 13, Anwar highlighted that the salary system for civil servants will be gradually improved, taking into account the country’s economic abilities. This statement follows an earlier one where Anwar recognized the necessity to revisit the pay structure since civil servants wage revisions were on hold from 2013.

We’re glad that the government is stepping up their game in helping out the people. Here’s to a more efficient workforce that will propel our country onwards!
