It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Like any other celebration, Christmas in Malaysia is an occasion many look forward to. And, one of our specialties just so happens to be our festive decorations!
American woman amazed by Christmas decorations in local mall
Recently, TikTok user Lilith was out and about in a shopping mall when she spotted the eye-catching Christmas decorations. “How is is that Malaysians go harder on Christmas than Americans?” she wondered aloud, as she filmed the surrounding decor.
Speaking to Wau Post, Lilith, who is originally from the United States, says that she has been living in Malaysia for about 5 years now. Having traveled to many places, she was impressed by the amount of effort that went into the mall decorations here.
“Not as much like these decorations”
In the video, Lilith proceeded to compare the Christmas culture in Malaysia with America. She explained that her home country has a Christian population of 63% versus Malaysia’s which was only 9%.
“Like when I go to the US I never see these kinds of decorations,” she shares in amazement. Later, the clip pans to a gigantic Christmas tree which Lilith can’t help but gush over. Soon, netizens also chimed in to agree with her.
Well, it just goes to show that Malaysians certainly know how to throw a celebration. So, take a trip down to any shopping mall, and see it for yourself!
