Saufi Marwan Muhammad Hariri was separated with his mother for over 27 years and with the help of Facebook, he was able to be reunited with his mother in Satun, Thailand. Even though it’s been over two decades, Saufi has never forgotten his mother and his desire to reunite with her sparked further after he lost his father suddenly back in 2021.

According to local newspaper Kosmo!, Saufi revealed that he lived with anger for the past two decades, thinking that his mother had abandoned him. Subsequently, when his father passed, his longing for his mother arose and that’s when he decided to reunite with his mother.
Thankfully, with the support of his wife, Najla Zakaria, he decided to search for his mother as the only thing he knew about her whereabouts was in Satun, Thailand. Fortunately, as technology advances, he was able to track his biological mother through the internet.

“We were able to locate my mother, Che An Asri, back in April 2022, just a day before Hari Raya Aidilfitri”, he said.
Saufi, who is a teacher expressed his guilt and remorse as his meeting with his mother had given him clarity of the situation. It turns out that his mother had tried to contact and search for him throughout the years but was met with disappointments and failure each time.
Asking about his search, Saufi shared that it took him 3 days to obtain his mother’s contact information and as soon as he received it, he called his mother immediately. Taking a trip to Thailand to visit his mother, Saufi found solace in knowing that his mother was surrounded by her other four children.
“My life is no longer empty, I have a mother and siblings”, he expressed, adding that the only hope he has now is to take care of his mother.
