One of the best things about living in Malaysia is the ability to pick up multiple languages. Just recently, a Malaysian aunty has shown her incredible Tamil speaking skills when her Indian neighbours came to visit her during Hari Raya!
Makcik speaks fluent Tamil to her neighbours during Raya open house
Watching the video, Juliana shared that her mom has opened her house for her neighbours to come over and celebrate the festive season. The woman was seen sitting at the living room with her neighbours, conversing with them in fluent Tamil.

Living in a neighbourhood where majority of their neighbours are Indian, Juliana shared that her mom was incredibly happy as she could put her Tamil speaking skills into good use. Speaking to Wau Post, Juliana mentioned that her mom used to live in the estate, where she also had plenty of Indian neighbours. Living there for years, before moving out, Juliana’s mom managed to learn how to speak Tamil.
“She grew up in Estet TRP in Trong Taiping, Perak”, she said.
Moving to Damansara, Juliana revealed that most of her mom’s current neighbours are Indian, where she’s able to continue practicing her Tamil.
