For many schools, sports day events are usually held to help build a sense of community around the school. It also helps encourage more physical activity and teamwork amongst the students and teachers. With that said, just recently, a video has gone viral on TikTok, showcasing a sports day event!
M’sian kid dresses up as gas cylinder for school sports day event
According to the video, a Malaysian primary school located in Sarawak was hosting a sports day event. For this year’s theme they went with oil and gas. Students and teachers who will be participating in the event would then have to come up with a mascot according to their house colour team.

Amusingly, the green team has decided to go with dressing up as a Petronas gas cylinder! Speaking to Wau Post, it was mentioned that the sports day event was actually held by SK Long Sebangan Lawas! When asked if the mascot the team created had won anything, they mentioned that there were no contests between the mascots.
“However, the green team did win second prize for the overall event”, said the teacher.
Praising the team for their creativity, many netizens have commented on the video and here’s what some of them said:
“Where can I get a gas cylinder that has its own legs? It’s tiring to bring it up the 3rd floor.”
