M’sian delivery rider shocked to receive RM500 tip from elderly, returns money to the mailbox
According to a Facebook group called “GrabFood Rider Malaysia“, a Malaysian rider has shared his experience after accepting an order from a customer named Angel.
“I received an order from this customer’s child and the bill has already been paid”, he wrote.
After picking the order up from the restaurant, the rider then headed towards the house where he was greeted by an elderly woman. Passing the food over to his customer, the aunty then gave him some money and told him it was his tip. Thinking that it was a RM2 or RM3 tip, he was shocked to find out that the aunty had passed him a whopping RM500.
“What is this money for again? The food your child ordered has been paid for already”, he asked the woman, to which she replied saying that it’s a tip for him.
Finding it odd that a customer would tip RM500, he then suspects that the woman may be unwell and didn’t want to appear as he was taking advantage of her. Despite receiving confirmation from the woman that the money was a tip, he decided to place the money back into the mailbox and took pictures of it.
He then sent the pictures to the customer via the chat option in the delivery app, informing the woman’s child that the RM500 has been placed in the mailbox.
Following his honesty, many netizens have commented on the video and here’s what some of them said:
“You’re so honest, may God reward you with tenfold of blessings.”
“Thank you for being honest and compassionate, may you be rewarded with tenfold of blessings and rewards.”
