Shila Amzah is a Malaysian singer that is known for her ability to speak fluent mandarin as well as appearing in variety singing programmes, showcasing her talent. Following her divorce back in 2021, Shila has since moved on with her life along with her child, Seth who is now 4 years old.
Shila Amzah shares video of her reading a storybook to her son in Mandarin
Taking this heartwarming moment onto her socials, Shila has shared a short clip of her spending some quality time with her son. In the video, it could be seen that her son Seth was wrapped around her embrace while looking at the storybook she had just purchased for him.

She then began reading the storybook while explaining it in English so that her child could understand the story. As she was reading in Mandarin, her son was actively chiming in, occasionally speaking in Mandarin, signifying that he was able to recognise the Mandarin words written in the book. In her caption, she shared that her son had actually came to her with the storybook asking for her to read the story to her.
“I would always buy Seth storybooks written in mandarin and it makes me happy to see him open his heart and mind towards books that are of other languages”, she said.

According to local newspaper China Press, it was reported that despite how busy she is preparing for her concert tour scheduled to commence on 3 June in Singapore, she would still spend time with her child reading to him in different languages including, English, Arabic and Bahasa Melayu.
“I hope you’re able to learn many other languages, my dear child, may you always have an open heart”, she mentioned.
Following her video, her post has garnered over 29k likes and plenty of netizens have commented saying how in awe they are of her dedication to teach her child different languages.
“I think you should teach your kid if they’re open to it. They’re at the age where they absorb anything they see and hear. I hope Seth can improve his basics and become hardworking in speaking different languages!”
