Datuk Wira Lee Chong Wei needs no introduction among fellow Malaysians, what with his well-deserved reputation as one of the nation’s most decorated sporting legends. But beyond his achievements in the world of badminton, he has also been known to be an incredibly doting husband as well as a family man, as evidenced by his social media pages which often feature his wife and kids.

Just a day ago, the heartfelt romantic once again left social media abuzz with his frank admission of love to his wife, former badminton singles player Wong Mew Choo, on the popular video sharing platform TikTok.
In a video recording that was secretly taken during what appears to be a media event attended by Youth and Sports Minister YB Hannah Yeoh in addition to members of the press, Mew Choo could be seen visibly moved by her husband’s words as he spoke at length about the hurdles and challenges that he faced when his career was at its lowest point.
Wiping away her tears from red-rimmed eyes, she made an attempt to retain her composure as her son, Terrance, looked on before moving over to try and comfort his mother.
Considering the fact that the couple had met all the way back in the early days of their careers at a badminton camp and have endured so many trials and tribulations in their lives together, it’s no wonder why Mew Choo teared-up!
Apparently upon seeing the video himself, even Chong Wei admitted that he welled-up with emotion and broke down. As the old saying goes, behind every great man, there stands a woman and it most certainly holds true in this respect.
“What else do I need in life when I have this girl?” the sporting legend wrote.

The clip, which has since gone viral, has led to many Malaysians commending Chong Wei for taking the time to acknowledge and appreciate his wife for standing by him throughout thick and thin, as well as how lucky he was to have met her.
“A wife witnesses everything, congratulations Dato, your wife is really the right one for you.”
Others also praised their son, Terrance Lee, for consoling his mother.
“Great job Terrance Lee, he saw his mother sad, so he comforted her.”
