Security guards are often underappreciated as their job entails plenty of responsibilities like ensuring the safety of people who frequent the area, often putting their own lives in danger if trespassers are aggressive. Just recently, a fellow Malaysian has shared a video on TikTok regarding a security guard trying to buy a meal for himself.
Kindhearted M’sian treats security guard to a meal after noticing that he only has RM5
In his video, Aizad shared that as he was about to grab a bite, he stumbled upon a security guard who was in the midst of queuing up to purchase his meal. Out of the corner of his eyes, he saw that the security guard only had RM5 in his wallet. Thinking to himself, Aizad questioned if RM5 is really enough to even buy a meal as the cost-of-living has been increasing over the years.
As he watches the security guard ordering his food, he realised that the guard only bought a plate rice with some gravy. Empathising with the guard’s condition, he decided to approach the guard, offering him to buy him a meal. When he approached the guard, he told the guard to order a plate of rice with some fried chicken and gravy, to which the guard told him that he didn’t have enough money for that.
“I told him that I’d buy him his meal and asked him to keep his RM5”, said Aizad.
The guard then kept his RM5 back into his pocket and the man ordered his meal for him. Seeing that the guard has some sort of protein in his meal, Aizad expressed that he felt happy knowing that he was able to help the guard. After the guard received his food, he quickly thanked Aizad for his kindness and it was apparent that the guard was very grateful of his gesture.
Following Aizad’s good deed, plenty of netizens have commented on the video and here’s what some of them said:
“They would usually send over 90% of their salary back home.”
“Thank you for your kind gesture.”
“He is so happy and grateful.”
The world needs mor ekind people like you, Aizad, continue being the kind person that you are!
