Over a week ago, debate was happening all over the internet regarding the prices of air tickets especially for Malaysians who are preparing their trip back to their hometowns for Hari Raya. Subsequently, a student has taken his disappointment onto his TIkTok, revealing that he will not be returning home to Sabah as the flight tickets were too expensive.
Kind netizen sponsors flight ticket for student so he can celebrate Hari Raya with his family
In his video, the student named Zulfikar has shared that it’s difficult to not feel upset as he sees his course mates and friends heading back to their hometown for the festive celebrations. He mentioned in his video saying that the flight ticket back to his hometown is too pricey and he had no choice but to stay back at his hostel.
He then captioned his video saying that the sacrifice he is making, choosing to not spend that much on the flight ticket is for his future. Subsequently, his video went viral online with many netizens advising them to stock up on food as the restaurants nearby would most probably be closed.
However, just 4 days ago, Zulfikar has shared another video onto his TikTok which has garnered over 2.1 million views sharing that he was able to make it back to his hometown to celebrate the festive season. Prior to this, to prepare himself in the hostel, he headed over to a nearby grocery store to get some canned goods and rice to tide him through the long Raya weekend. He then revealed that a kindhearted and generous netizen has reached out to him saying that his wish to head back to his hometown can be arranged.
Following that, he included a picture of a plane ticket saying that he is very grateful to have met someone who is so generous and kind. When he shared the news to his mother, he couldn’t help but shed a few tears as he was immensely grateful for the kindness he has encountered.
Plenty of netizens who saw the video have left their comments saying how it was his blessing to have met someone so generous.
“Study well and when you’ve succeed in life, you should return the favour by helping others.”
“When you’re successful, don’t forget to help out those who are in need, this is to ensure that there will always be kind people in the world.”
“Thank you for being kindhearted.”
