Home to various cultural and artistic performances, Istana Budaya, also known as the Place of Culture, is a prominent performing arts venue established back in 1999. Built with the purpose of promoting and preserving Malaysian arts and culture, it has multiple performance spaces, including a grand theater with a seating capacity of around 1,400 people.
Istana Budaya prices orchestra concert tickets at RM30 each next month
In July, Istana Budaya will be holding orchestra performances at Panggung Sari called Lambang Sari Series 2023, a celebration of classical music. Ticket prices are priced at RM30 per ticket in hopes of encouraging the locals to attend. Director-general of Istana Budaya, Zubaidah Mukhtar said that she hopes that this initiative would prompt all walks of life to appreciate classical music.
In addition to that, Zubaidah also shared that the RM30 ticket price was aligned with the government’s initiative to offer Rahmah prices so that the locals can enjoy classical concerts without paying an exorbitant amount.
“The RM30 ticket price is also in conjunction to celebrating the 30th anniversary of the National Symphony Orchestra (OSK)”, she said.
She revealed that the prices for the cheapest ticket for these performances would usually be priced at RM180 but in an attempt to include all sections of society to be exposed to these performances, the prices have been adjusted to cater to everyone. She shared that the upcoming performances would include the greatest western music compositions and ensured that the quality of the performances would be top notch, despite the low-ticket price.
Looking at the website, the first show would take place on July 8 and the following shows would be on July 9, October 21 and November 18 respectively, with all performances starting at 8:30pm. Fans of Mozart, Bach and Karl Ditters von Dittersdorf can expect an immersive experience as a different soloist will be featured in each series along with 25 OSK musicians and 10 guest musicians.
Locals are encouraged to purchase their promotional price tickets at RM100, which includes tickets to all four performances that are scheduled in the upcoming months. To purchase your tickets, click here!
